The bank repeatedly reassured clients that it would not disclose details of accounts to national authorities, even if evidence suggested that the accounts were undeclared to tax authorities in the client’s home country. Bank employees also discussed with clients a range of measures that would ultimately allow clients to avoid paying taxes in their home countries. This included holding accounts in the name of offshore companies to avoid the European Savings Directive, a 2005 Europe-wide rule aimed at tackling tax evasion through the exchange of bank information.

কিন্তু দ্রি নিশ্চয়ই জানেন যে এই পানামা অনেকগুলো ট্যাক্স হ্যাভেনের মধে একটা মাত্র। ব্রিটিশ ভার্জিন আইল্যান্ড, কেম্যান আইল্যান্ড, লুক্সেমবুর্গ, ফ্লোরিডা, নেভাদা, হংকং এই সব জায়গার তথ্য যদি এইভাবে ফাঁস হতো তাহলে কেমন মজা হতো ভাবুন! পৃথিবীর তাবত পলিটিশিয়ান, আর্মস ডিলার, রাজারানী, স্পাই এজেন্সি, কোম্পানির ডিরেক্টর, ফিল্মি হিরোদের মাথা নেড়ে নেড়ে নানানাতাইতাইতাই করে যেতে হতো। হিলারি, ক্যামেরন, পুটিন, আসাদ, আরব শেখরা, আমাদের দেশের নেতারা যারা ক্ষমতায় আছেন আর যারা বিরোধীপক্ষ, এদের সবাইকে কতো কতো ডিনায়াল স্টেটমেন্ট ইস্যু করতে হতো, কতো রকমের কন্স্পিরেসি থিওরি আবিষ্কার করতে হতো। বেশ মজা হতো কিন্তু। আর নাইন পিনসের মধ্যে কটা পিন ফল করলো, কটা দাঁড়িয়ে রইল সেও গোনা যেত।

কিছুদিন আগে নেভাডার রেনোতে রথসচাইল্ড তাদের ব্রাঞ্চ খুলেছে। এবার বারমুডা, বাহামা, পানামার ওপর চাপ যত বাড়বে, স্ক্রুটিনি যত বাড়বে, হু হু করে পয়সা ঢুকবে নেভাডায়।

The Turkish city of Gaziantep is the trade hub used by Islamic State to sell objects of cultural heritage, stolen from Syria and Iraq. In an official letter to UN Russian envoy Vitaly Churkin outlined how the valuables are being transported and sold.
“Antiquities from Syria and Iraq are exported by the extremists mostly through the territory of Turkey. The main center for the smuggling of cultural heritage items is the Turkish city of Gaziantep, where the stolen goods are sold at illegal auctions and then through a network of antique shops and at the local market, Bakırcılar Çarşısi (Eski Saray Street, Şekeroğlu district),” states the letter that was made public on Wednesday.
According to Churkin, about 100,000 cultural sites of global importance are currently under Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) control, including 4,500 archeological sites, nine of which are on UNESCO World Heritage List. The Russian envoy also claims that the profits from the illegal trade of antiques and archeological values by Islamists amounts to some $150-200 million a year.
Moreover, Churkin states Islamic State has a special unit for dealing with antiques led by commander Abu Sayyaf al-Iraqi, part of the so-called Ministry of Natural Resources established by the terror-group’s ‘government,’ which also holds the grip of the oil operations.

Quite frankly, my feeling is that this is certainly an intelligence agency operation,” CNBC cited Birkenfeld as saying.

April 14 Deutsche Bank AG agreed to settle U.S. lawsuits accusing it of conspiring with other banks to manipulate gold and silver prices at investors' expense, court papers show.
The settlements were disclosed in letters filed in Manhattan federal court by lawyers representing investors and traders who accused Deutsche Bank of violating U.S. antitrust law.
Terms were not disclosed, but both settlements will include monetary payments by the German bank. Deutsche Bank also agreed to help the plaintiffs pursue claims against other defendants.
The gold settlement was disclosed on Thursday, and the silver settlement on Wednesday.
